Terms of Use

Last updated: 4 September 2026

These terms govern your use of the Alliance For Community Awareness website. Please read them, and pay particular attention to the section on medical advice.

Template — have this reviewed

These terms of use are a good-faith template prepared for AFCA’s website. They are not legal advice. Have them reviewed by a lawyer qualified in Cameroon before relying on them, particularly the sections covering medical disclaimers and liability.

Acceptance of these terms

By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. These terms apply alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy.

About this website

This site is operated by Alliance For Community Awareness (AFCA), a registered non-profit, non-governmental organisation in Cameroon. It exists to explain our work, publish health education material, and let people volunteer, partner with us or request a medical campaign.

No medical advice

This is the most important term on this page.

Nothing on this website is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a prescription. The health information we publish is general education. It cannot take account of your particular circumstances, it cannot tell you what is wrong with you, and it cannot tell you what medicine to take or in what dose.

  • Always seek the advice of a qualified health professional about any medical condition
  • Never delay seeking care, or disregard advice you have been given, because of something you read here
  • If you think you are facing a medical emergency, go to the nearest health facility immediately

AFCA does not diagnose or treat anyone remotely. We do not give clinical advice by email, telephone, message or through this website’s forms. A reply from us is not a consultation.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use this website to break the law, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or the systems behind it, to submit false or misleading information, to send spam or malicious code, or to impersonate anyone. We may restrict access where the site is being misused.

Information you send us

When you use our contact, volunteer or campaign request forms, you confirm that the information you give is accurate and that you are entitled to provide it. Clinical volunteers confirm that their professional registration is valid and current; we may verify this before anyone sees patients.

Submitting a form does not create any obligation on AFCA to reply, to accept a volunteer, to accept a partnership, or to run a campaign in a particular community. We assess every request against need, access and our capacity as a volunteer organisation.

Donations and fraud warning

AFCA does not collect payments through this website and does not ask for card or bank details here. All contributions are arranged directly with our team.

If someone asks you for money in AFCA’s name

Verify it with us first, using the details on our contact page. We will never contact you unexpectedly demanding payment, and we will never ask for card details, passwords or one-time codes by message.

Intellectual property

The content of this website — text, layout, graphics and the AFCA name and logo — belongs to AFCA or is used with permission. You may read, print and share our health education material for personal, educational or community health purposes, with attribution to Alliance For Community Awareness. You may not present it as your own, sell it, or use the AFCA name or logo to raise funds or imply endorsement without our written permission.

Where we link to other organisations, it is for convenience or because the source is useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.

Disclaimer and liability

We take care to keep this website accurate and up to date, but we provide it “as is”. We do not warrant that it will always be available, error-free or free of harmful components. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AFCA is not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website — including any decision taken on the basis of the general health information published here. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon, and the courts of Cameroon have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated, and continued use of the site means you accept the current version.
