Alliance For Community Awareness is recruiting licensed health professionals and non-clinical volunteers for upcoming free medical campaigns across Cameroon. Registration is open year round and there is no minimum commitment.
Who we are looking for
Campaigns are delivered entirely by volunteers. On the clinical side we need medical doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists and dispensing officers, and laboratory scientists. Clinical volunteers must provide proof of qualification and a current licence to practise, and work strictly within their licensed scope on the day.
Just as important are the non-clinical roles that decide whether a campaign runs smoothly: registration and record keeping, managing patient flow so that the elderly, pregnant women and children are not left standing, translation into local languages, transport and logistics, procurement, and communications.
What the commitment involves
There is no minimum. Many volunteers give a single day a year. Once you are registered and, where relevant, verified, you are invited to campaigns as they are scheduled and you decide each time whether you are available. Volunteers are not paid; where a campaign budget allows, shared transport and a meal on the day are provided, and this is confirmed with you in advance rather than assumed.
What you agree to
Every volunteer accepts a written set of obligations before joining a team: verified credentials, working within scope, patient confidentiality, safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults, a duty to refer cases we cannot treat, and an absolute prohibition on requesting or accepting any payment or gift from a patient.
How to register
Complete the form on the volunteer page, or call and WhatsApp +237 6 79 62 34 55 between 07:00 and 21:00. If you would rather register verbally because writing is difficult, say so and we will take your details over the phone.
